FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER
FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
To maintain law and order;
To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;
To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars;
To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state and nation;
To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
To make right the master of might;
To promote peace and goodwill on earth;
To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom and democracy;
To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
American Legion Post 296, Inc. meets on the fourth Thursday of each month at the Vass Municial Building, 140 S. Alma St, Vass, NC 28394 unless otherwise posted on our Post Events Calendar.
The American Legion was founded upon four pillars of service in 1919. Today, at Vass American Legion Post 296, Inc. we continue to pledge ourselves to... Our Veterans… Our Youth… A Strong National Defense… And Americanism. In partnership with Auxiliary Unit 296, Sons of the American Legion 296, and American Legion Riders Chapter 296, we are guided by these four pillars to shape our work and what we do for our community, state, and nation.
